#1023 "Splendor" Peacock

Price: $325.00

In a positively exquisite display of artistry, the incomparable Pompeian Bronze Co. produced this consequential and now rare set of bookends with a majestically preening peacock in a highly detailed natural scene. Each piece bears the foundry mark on the rear along with the title, "Splendor." The set, circa 1925, is done in bronze-clad gray metal with a polychrome finish. Dimensions:
4-1/4" w x 1-3/4" d x 3-3/4"h
Weight: 4 lbs.

Condition Comment:
Very good vintage condition with some minor enamel loss and age-appropriate wear. Felt on bases replaced.

#1036 Crane Flying

A spectacular example of metal art, this depiction of a crane preparing for flight by the important Dodge, Inc. foundry conveys the grace and power of this magnificent creature. It is executed in copper- bronze finished gray metal, circa 1946 and is inscribed with the Dodge name on the back. Dimensions:

The majestic peacock struts his feathers proudly in this wonderfully detailed set of bookends from the respected Weidlich Brothers foundry, circa 1925. Each very substantial plated gray metal piece has a rich patina and is stamped with the WB foundry mark. Dimensions:

The fierce eagle, taken directly from the great Seal of the United States, carries in its beak a ribbon with America's motto, E Pluribus Unum, and in one talon an olive branch, in the other, a bundle of arrows. Believed to be circa 1930s, these are made of cast iron with a gold and polychrome finish. Dimensions:
